Amitabh Bachhan-Jaya Bachhan
The most popular couple of Bollywood, Amitabh and Jaya, also had a successful innings on the box office. A gold medalist from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, friends and struggling actor Amitabh got a lead role in “Zanjeer”. Then no leading actress was ready to work with him. At such a time Amitabh requested his then girl friend Jaya to do the role. He had also promised Jaya a holiday in London when the movie would be declared a hit. Hema Malini-Dharmendra
